Welcome Back! • Take an index card and find the other 2-3 people that have the same color. • Reintroduce yourselves- name, school and position • Discuss • Define your school year. What are you most excited about? What overwhelms you? • ipad Grant – What do you remember about the grant? What questions do you still have? • What is the first thing you will do or have already done with the ipad and with students?
Student Surveys • 1. Things to do: • Review the student data from the September 2010 Surveys. • There are very few paper copies (except HS). You do have access on our wiki site - http://ipaded.wikispaces.com/Surveys • Notice for patterns and trends. • 2. Discuss with your colleagues: • What do you notice? How will it impact your instruction? • Was there anything that surprised you? • What is the most important information that you can take away from the data? • 3. We will report out soon! (If you would like a closer look at individual student surveys, we can give you access. Please ask. )
Notes: • Almost all kids say they use tech. daily (but this particular type?) • Surprised how many kids have access to so much • Surprised how many students like the subject area (is this because of the ipads?) • All but 3 4th graders use video games • Faster and more convenient! • iPad is like a big iPhone! • Students bring headphones – know how to get music • KidBiz access was faster – room was QUIET • “We are so lucky!” Excitement in the air • We might need to “teach” some of the apps
