Cold Blooded These animals are cold blooded . That means they can’t control there body temp and adapt there body temp around them. Example: This water could be Warm , Cold, Hot, or Cool
Life Cycle • All animals have a life cycle. • 1. The female shark produces life young and have about 30-50 babies. A sting ray lays eggs. • 2. The baby sharks & rays get left alone to live by itself. • 3. Now they are middle age and hunt in shallow water. • 4. Now the sharks are an adult and migrate to find a mate. • 5. They find a place to stay and to have young and gain weight up to 500-1000 pounds
Species • One shark species is a basking shark. • Another shark is a tiger shark. • Next is the whale shark. • One stingray species is a pelagic sting ray. • Another sting ray species is a benthic stingray. • Did you know that a whale shark can grow as big as a FIRETRUCK?
Classification • Cartilaginous fish are vertebrates. Vertebrates have a backbone. Cartilaginous fish have a special skeleton made of cartilage.
Habitat • All sharks live in salt water most sharks migrate so sharks can live all over the ocean. • Some great white sharks are known to hunt out of water.
Body covering Their skin is rough like sand paper.
Did you know???? • Stingrays have a stinger that can hurt you so that you can’t move anything. • Sharks can be very dangerous so never run to touch one.
Special body parts • Sharks have rows and rows of teeth to kill there prey. They are carnivores. • then they have a special skeleton made of cartilage then they have gills behind there eyes.
