  2. When Jed was ten he went to the pond.

  3. At the pond, Jed met Pat. Pat is a frog.

  4. Pat is a fat frog. He has big black spots.

  5. Pat is not a bad frog but he is a sad frog. He has no pals in the pond.

  6. The frogs swim and splash in the pond. But not Pat. He sits in the grass.

  7. Pat was sad with no pals in the pond. Then Pat met Jed.

  8. Jed sat in the grass next to Pat. Pat got Jed wet, but Jed did not scram as the frogs do.

  9. Then he put Pat in a bag. Jed got the bag and Pat back to his shed.

  10. Pat left the pond to rest in the shed. He was glad to have a shed and a bed.

  11. Jed was glad to have a pet and Pat was glad to have a pal. The end.
