Journey 1 • Make an account if you don’t already have it. This is for peggy to use these to explain in the introduction about posting reflections after each journey. Make sure to copy the reflections instruction page as an attachment and have the participants download it as a template and save it to the team folder so that it can be edited and saved after each journey. Log in to the lcmatrace from the www.wikispaces.com website. • Show refelction page/ have member type team name/members’ names on reflection page • Post comments to the team race wiki about the most valuable thing learned during the previous journeys. (as instructed above)
Journey 2 • Easy Tech Online Safety Course requiring a deliverable to be saved to the network folder. • Instructions for Journey 1 are saved in the allen\peggy\amazing race folder. They will take the communicating online quiz, complete the “Halt who Goes There?” online safety activity and save documents in the Team network folder. • Once completed, they will turn the Journey 1 card in to the Race Coordinator (Kim or Peggy). Race Coordinators will mark the time submitted and review the content to make sure it is completed.*Take the Communicating Online Quiz from the Main Easy Tech Menu. (as a group)
Flip Cameras - Journey 3 • Use the Flip Camera and software to record a video of each(?) team member introducing themselves. Combine each clip into a Flip Movie, and save in the team network folder. • (include Peggy’s instructions she made for K. Lindsey in the Journey Station handout and on the Wiki).
Journey 4 • Locate and save the “Guide to Getting Started With Atomic Learning” and save it in the Team folder. • Search the Atomic Learning Site to locate a tutorial on Audacity (Use your guide for help if needed. You will need this knowledge for a future journey. • Mark Audacity Tutorials A, B, and C as favorites. Check you’re my Training folder to make sure the Audacity tutorials are listed in favorites.
Journey 5 • Do the lesson on planning podcasts in Easy Tech prior to the Audacity module (admins) • Log in to Atomic Learning and watch the tutorials on Audacity. • Find something for them to record on why we use 21st century tools for classroom integration. 2-3 minutes (use Peggy’s poster info) • Save the podcast in the team network folder
Journey 6 • - Find a Discovery Streaming video which could be used in the classroom and download it to the team’s network folder. Look for related material and if there are resources that go with the videos, save them to your team folder also.
Avatar & Voki- Journey 7 • Use the Internet to find a avatar or gravatar generator application. Each team member should create an avatar to use in a 21st century collaboration tool. Save in jpeg format in the team folder.
Journey 8 • Log in to gaggle, and send mail to another team member. • Upload your Voki to the social wall. • Upload your Voki to the Blog. • Copy and paste the email you sent to a word document and save it in the team folder.
Race Winners - Use what you have learned • Each team will create a product using at least 4 of the methods learned during completion of tasks and including them in a lesson to be presented to the group, then to the Administrative Team. We give them 2 weeks to collaborate and develop an integrated lesson to present to the whole team. The winning team will present to the Administrative team at an A team meeting to be scheduled by the Technology Director.
