Project partners Leading partner – Foundation “Riga region development agency” There are 23 partners from Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Estonia, Finland and Latvia. Partners representing national and regional authorities, railway companies. RAIL BALTICA
Project Rail Baltica Project aim: The definition of the most favourable route for the Rail Baltica railway link in terms of spatial planning and regional development Project divided in 4 Work Packages Budget changes: To achieve the objectives of the project under each of WP there were budget changes made RAIL BALTICA
WP1 Objective: Definition of a common strategy for theintegration of spatial planning and regional development issues. Results: • conditions for successful railway development are clarified • a joint assessment approach is defined • a common development strategy is elaborated RAIL BALTICA
WP2 Objective: Analyses of alternative routes/ lines within RB Development Zone Results: • Evaluation of regional alternative allignments of RB in light of assessment approach/development startegy • Study on the definition of the most favourable RB route RAIL BALTICA
WP3 Objective: Development of a joint approach for Case Study development and evaluation Results: • 5 Case studies performed • approach for the planning / evaluation of development projects is harmonized in best-practice handbook RAIL BALTICA
WP4 Objective: Initiation of a promotion campaign and of political discussions to further promote a harmonizedapproach Results: • Promotion of Rail Baltica – public information -newsletters and leaflets; • Rail Baltica home page; • Final international press conference; • Final project report and dissemination of it.
