  2. Les autres musiciens se mirent en colère et jouèrent de plus en plus fort. Chacun finit par jouer comme il lui plaisait : les lyres se mélangeaient aux tambourins, les violons aux luths et les baglamas aux flûtes. Il n'y avait plus aucune harmonie, et les deux époux, désemparés, ne purent raisonner personne. Ils continuèrent donc à danser.

  3. Toutes les personnes présentes ne participèrent donc pas à la cérémonie d'ouverture des Jeux, tandis que l'orchestre jouait de plus en plus fort et que les invités dansaient tout en buvant.

  4. Zeus, qui devait être honoré durant ces jeux, se mit en colère contre ces deux époux et leurs invités pris de folie qui préféraient leur mariage à lui. Humilié, il détruisit tous les instruments présents et rendit les mariés muets. Depuis ce jour plus aucun habitant ne manqua cette cérémonie.
