Unit Summary MIS technology is a key requirement in our community because in Pakistan we are using manual systems which are time taking and costly procedure. For solve this problem we have to play the role of Analyst and developers with Survey for fact finding, designing, testing and implementing activities. With Information Systems positive social impacts are quite higher like Paper free environment, Job opportunity, consistency in work and error free reporting.
Curriculum-Framing Questions • Essential Question How would I create an Information System using the Technology? • Unit QuestionsCan We Serve the Community through information systems? • Content QuestionsWhat is the ratio of usage of Information Systems in Community? How can we bring the change in work load with Information Systems? How can we help community through 21st Century technology?
Information Systems This project will help my students develop 21st century skills by: • Applying Concepts. • Analyzing data about Peripheral Devices. • Solving problems and making decisions about their experiment. • Communicating with others in a newsletter.
Gauging Student Needs Assessment • Purpose of the Assessment • To gather information about what students already know and what they wonder about Computerized Information Systems. • What I want to learn from my students? • I want to find out what they already know about the Unit Questions and what they know about setting up experiments. • How I have tried to promote higher-order thinking? • I ask students to find Analyzing and Applying then draw conclusions about Information Systems. • How the assessment information helps me and my students plan for upcoming activities in the unit? • If students have misconceptions about how to set up experiments, I can provide scaffolds. If students have different levels of understanding about the importance of Computerized Information Systems, I can provide various resources.
My Goals for the Course • Find ways to get my students more interested in learning Computers and Information System Hierarchy. • Learn about different kinds of technology my students and I can use • Share ideas with other teachers
Goals for My Students • To learn how scientists collect and think about data • To become more independent learners
Request for Feedback • Places I could find a classroom in a different climate for my students to work with • Ideas for helping students take more responsibility for their own learning
