  2. Corporation Overview The film is based on the book The Corporation: The Pathological Pursuit of Profit and Power by Joel Bakan. Topics covered: •Ethics •Corporate social responsibility •Politics and ideology •Economic and social interdependence among individuals, corporations and nations •Impacts of commercial activity on individuals, communities and the environment •Impacts of globalization

  3. The Corporation addresses three major themes: • Pathology of commerce • Marketing and Media • Relations with government: Deals cut to make a profit

  4. Documentarian in film Mark Achbar, Jennifer Abbott & Joel Bakan The documentarian’s role is behind the scene. The answers to their unheard questions are given through interviews, statistics, actual footage and historical examples.

  5. Editing • The documentarians cover over 40 interviews with company Ceo’s, brokers, activists, a spy and whistleblowers. • The film includes footage from TV news, advertising, and industrial films. • Narration informs and guides you through film sequence.

  6. Evidence • Pollution • Underpaid workers • Scandals • Disease • Death

  7. The long haul • A film for the ages! As long as corporations exist there will be issues that need addressing. This film will serve as a good reminder.
