What is a Bill of Material? • A bill of material (BOM) is a list or table containing information of products or parts (raw materials) within an assembly or project. These include, but are not limited to: • Part or product number • Part, product, or vendor (suppliers) name or description • Color • Price • Quantity (unit) • Waste • Etc.
BOM Software • Design software packages such as CATIA, Inventor, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks contain BOM options. • Can purchase software packages for BOM generation • Can be created via Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Excel, and others
