  3. Key Features for Industry Participants NERC’s enhanced standards process was approved by FERC on September 3, 2010. This White Paper highlights some of the key features of the FERC-approved “StandardsProcesses Manual.” NSRS Meeting April 20, 2011

  4. Old Process vs. New Process Old Process New Process Allowed determination of degree of consensus at the end of the process. If consensus is not achieved, the entire process restarted Consensus is achieved through parallel comment and ballot periods which are conducted earlier in the process Drafting Teams have the flexibility to modify the standard while it is under development and immediately re-ballot while they seek additional comments Separate formal comment period and pre-ballot review periods The new process allows more than one successive ballot periods to be conducted to achieve consensus.
