Approach to Events Analysis • Identify what happened – sequence of events • Understand the root causes of events • Identify and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions • Develop and share recommendations and valuable lessons learned to the industry • Enhance operational performance and avoid repeat events • Provide opportunity for registered entities to self-assess any compliance issues ERCOT ROS November 11, 2010

Field Test for Events Analysis • Field test began October 25, 2010; ends early 2011 • Events occurring during this time should be analyzed using the new process. • Send reports and other documents to: systemevents@texasre.org • Register your comments and concerns during this period via an email to: information@texasre.org • NOTE: Reports required under EOP-004 and other NERC Standards still continue separately.
