Burned Area Recovery Team Prior to deployment Gather other base data • Pre-burn aerial photography (NAIP) • Post-burn aerial photography (generally not available) • Quad sheets (1:24000) • Digital Elevation Model Data --10-meter resolution if available • Cultural data – political boundaries, roads and cities (ESRI Streetmaps) • Fire Protection Responsibility Areas (FRAP web site) NOTE: Copy and keep all base data on an external hard drive for future incident deployments! • Resource datasets • Geology (Statewide dataset or better) • Hydrography (National Hydrography Dataset) • Soil (STATSGO or preferably, SURSSGO) • Vegetation (FRAP or CASIL web site) • Fire History (FRAP web site)

ESRI Manuals External hard drive(s) GIS class notes and books Printer; plotter (if available) ESRI Forum print-outs Projector and screen Data sets (should already be on external hard drive) Easel and large paper Field Equipment Binding machine Steel-toe boots GPS Unit Hard hat Air card for internet connection Orange vest Office Supplies Reams of paper (letter and legal) NOTE: Be self-sufficient! Don’t assume items will be supplied! Take more than you think you need! Card stock (letter and 11’ x 17”) Binding combs File folders and binder clips Paper clips and stapler Magic markers and pushpins
