Classroom rules • 1. Be in your assigned seat & ready to work when the bell rings. • 2. Bring required materials to class. • 3. Listen & stay seated when someone is speaking. • 4. Turn assignments in on time. • 5. Treat others with respect.
Classroom purpose • Students will use high order thinking skills, rigorous training in writing, and relevant and engaging reading assignments. Students will read novels, non-fiction works, poetry, and drama in a theme-based format. Grammar & vocabulary study will help to sharpen your reading and writing skills.
Class materials • *11.5” binder (preferably with pockets on the inside) • *loose leaf paper • * black/blue ink pens • *highlighter • *1 subject notebook
Attendance • Daily attendance is required and expected. Students are expected to be in their seats and prepared to work when the bell rings. The SHS tardy policy will be enforced rigorously.
Make up work/Tutorials • Tutorials will be held on Wednesdays from 3:20-4:00pm. All written tests must be made up on Wednesdays. Missed daily work must be made up within 2 days of the absence.
