  1. Reflection Questions Tahj Hamilton

  2. Question 1 How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues? My film is different from most films because it doesn’t contain any dialogue or an actual plot. It was more of a series of aesthetically pleasing shots that were taken in a documentary manner. A social group that might be able to represent with our film is the naturalist group, people who enjoy nature and can appreciate it as something beautiful and artistic.

  3. Question 2 How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text? My product engages with audiences because it is aesthetically pleasing. It doesn’t take place in just one setting and our versatility with different camera angles makes it all the more intriguing. Furthermore, our editing allowed us to even further develop the mood of our film to grasps audience’s attention and make it different from other films. This film could be distributed as a commercial for the Morikami Japanese Gardens and could be aired on television or on their website to appeal to potential customers. We would get our product out to audiences by uploading it to social media outlets such as, Youtube, Facebook, and Twitter.

  4. Question 3 How did your production skills develop throughout this project, since starting the filmmaking process have you grown as a filmmaker, and what have you learned? My production skills have developed throughout this project because I have learned how to properly seek out lighting for the filming, effectively choose an angle or shot to convey a certain message/mood/thought, and time management. I have grown as a filmmaker because I understand the behind the scenes processes of filmmaking. I’ve learned how to create a storyboard, convey ideas through film, edit, and how to use a camera effectively.

  5. Question 3 continued... What do you like and what do you dislike? What I liked about this project was learning how to present ideas to a group and collectively create a theme for a film. I enjoyed picking out different settings as well. My favorite part was creating the storyboard and select times so that the video was in sync with our song. What I disliked about this project was the process of figuring out which song to pick because there were so many great ones to choose from. It's hard to think of something I disliked because I enjoy film and this was extremely fun for me.

  6. Question 3 What career might you want now, what career do you know you never want now, and what is the journey you have taken as a filmmaker? After this project, I might choose storyboarding and acting as career choices. A career I might not want is filming. As a filmmaker, my journey was fairly easy and extremely fun .

  7. Question 4 How did you integrate technologies in this project, what did you use to make your film, and how did you incorporate all the technology that you have learned in class to help with this project? I integrating these things into my project by editing the video and uploading it to Youtube. I incorporated all the technology that I have learned in this class to help with project by importing different shots, editing the video with different editing styles, and using a variation or shots and angles.
