Visual Arts Rubric When teaching art to students, it would be difficult and unfair to grade according to talent. Some have it and some don’t. Art can be taught to anyone who is truly interested in learning the skills and techniques used to communicate through it. Students in this program are graded by the amount effort put forward, attention to detail, and ability to follow directions. All students are to follow the P.D.S.A format when creating their projects.
Grading Rubric Exemplary Artwork created according to P.D.S.A. format. Work shows genuine 90 - 100 thought, planning, and creativity. Work is original. Student met and Points exceeded criteria for assignment. Time used proficiently. Attention paid to craft. Project finished on Due date. Proficient Artwork created according to P.D.S.A. format. Work shows some 80 - 89 thought, planning, and creativity. Student met criteria for assignment. Points Time used adequately. Some attention paid to craft. Project finished. Approaching Steps missing in P.D.S.A. format. Little thought, planning, and creativity. Proficient Some of criteria met for assignment. Time wasted. Little attention paid to 70 - 79 craft. Project rushed but finished. Beginner P.D.S.A. format not followed. No planning. Little creativity. Little criteria 60 - 69 met for assignment. Time wasted. No attention to craft.
