S4-S5 Curriculum • A further study of the junior course of Visual Arts. There are three learning domains: * Visual Arts Knowledge - study of visual language and logic. * Visual Arts Appreciation and Criticism - study of visual arts in the social, cultural and historical contexts. * Visual Arts Making - production of painting, 3D design, print-making & calligraphy etc.
2009 HKCEE Syllabus • Part 1 (50%) choose one of the following: • Paper 1 Life Drawing (3 hours) • Paper 2 Painting (3 hours) • Paper 3 Graphic Design (3 hours) • Paper 4 History of Art & Art Criticism (3 hours) • Part 2 (50%) • Portfolio (Teacher Assessment Scheme) of 6 pieces of artwork in various media (at least 3 different media) produced in S4 and S5 with draft and development of idea in writing
Requirements • Term average of B- or above • Great interest in visual arts • Creative, observant and diligent • Capable to express oneself aesthetically • Eager to explore in great variety of art
Allocation of time per week • S4 - 1 single period + a triple lesson (required to work after school for finishing TAS portfolio: art making, photo-taking, image and word processing with computer) • S5 - 1 single period + an afternoon of 4 working hours (required to work after school for finishing examination paper)
Further study andcareer prospect • Art creation • Art administration • Art education • Design (Interior design, Fashion design & Digital communication etc.)
