  3. Part of the Appalachian Mountain Range. The mountain range is located in the eastern United States, starting at its southern-most portion in Georgia, then ending northward in Pennsylvania. The forest environment provides natural habitat for many plants, trees and animals. What jobs or lifestyles might people have in this region? Blue Ridge Mountains

  4. Piedmont • The Piedmont Province contains a series of rolling hills and occasional isolated mountains. Rivers and ravines are found throughout this province. This is an area of many forests. • Changes in elevations result in considerable variety in plants that grow. • What jobs or lifestyles might people have in that area?

  5. Costal Plain • A low flat region of sandy, well drained, gently rolling hills and poorly drained flat lands. • makes up the southern half of Georgia. • Its soils, sands, and sandy clays are of marine origin and are usually acidic. • What jobs or lifestyles might people who live here have?

  6. Valley and Ridge • The Ridge and Valley Province occupies most of northwestern portion of Georgia. • Plants are based on the moisture (water in the air and ground), soil, and elevation. • What are some jobs or lifestyles people of this area might have?

  7. Appalachian Plateau • This mountainous province is found in extreme northwestern Georgia. • Its most prominent features are Lookout and Sand Mountains. • A variety of vegetation types occur in this area, depending on elevation,
