  2. J. Repeal of the Stamp Act Why was the Stamp Act repealed? Colonial boycott was hurting British merchants What did Ben Franklin say? he explained to Parliament why colonists objected to internal taxes, but says they would pay trade (external) taxes. He also warns of rebellion What was the Declaratory Act? States that Britain can and will make any law they want (even though they repealed the Stamp Act)
