The Louvre • The Louvre (French: Musée du Louvre), located in Paris, France,is one of the world’s biggest museums. With over 8 million visitors every year, it is the most visited museum in the world. Visitors can view works of art from antiquity through the 19th century. Since its opening in 1792, the Louvre has amassed a collection of over 35,000 pieces, including the Mona Lisa.

El Prado • El Prado (Spanish: El Museo del Prado) is the most famous art museum in Spain. Established in 1819 in Madrid, El Prado houses a collection of over 7,000 paintings. The paintings date from the 12th to the 19th century. You can also find drawings, prints, coins and medals, and sculpture here. Last year alone, the museum had almost 3 million visitors.

The AltePinakothek • The AltePinakothek in Munich, Germany, houses many masterpieces by European masters. Since its opening in 1836, this museum has exhibited some of the greatest works of art produced in Europe in the last several hundred years. The Uffizi Gallery The Uffizi Gallery (Italian: Galleria degli Uffizi) is located in Florence, Italy. The Uffizi is one of the oldest art museums in the Western world. Built by the powerful de Medici family, construction on the building started in 1560. The museum has been open to the public since 1765. Since it is one of Florence’s most popular sites, you may have to wait up to five hours to get through the doors during the peak of the tourist season!
