  2. History London is very old. It has a rich history. The Romans founded this cityin 43 A.D. They colled it Londinium. They built defensive walls around Londinium. In 1666 there was a great fire in London. It destroyed meny buildings. London was bombed during world war II .

  3. London Eye Famous places It opend in 2000. It is 135 meters high. Passengers ride in a special transparent capsules. Big Ben The name Big Ben is often used to describe the tower, the clock and the bell but the name was first given to the Great Bell. Tower Bridge This is a bridge which crosses the River Thames in London. It was built in 1894.

  4. Buckingham Palace This is a official home of the British royal family in London since 1837. It contains almost 600 rooms. Houses of Parliament The buildings of Parliament contain nearly 1,200 rooms, 100 staircases and well over 3 kilometers of passages! Tower of London This is a fortress in London next to the River Thames, built by William the Conqueror in the 11th century. It was the home for the kings and queens.

  5. Let’s go shoping! In London there are many department stores and shoping centeres. One of them is Harrods. It’s a large department store. It first openend in 1834. We can buy there many things: clothes, snacks, toys, books… everything! Harrods
