Project resultsMARINAS THE COUNTY OF SPLIT- DALMATIA
THE COUNTY OF SPLIT-DALMATIA • Largest Croatian county with surface area of 14,045 km2 (mainland 4,572 km2) • Highest number of inhabitants among Croatian counties (464 thousand) • Total of 55 local self-government units, out of that are 16 cities and 39 municipalities • Natural diversity (hinterland, coastland, islands) and attractions (Natural Park Biokovo, Cetina River, Zlatni Rat beach, Blue Cave…)
THE COUNTY OF SPLIT-DALMATIA(2) • Rich cultural heritage: UNESCO (Old Town Split with Diocletian’s Palace, Old Town Trogir), archaeological findings (Salona, Pharos, Issa), events (Split Summer Festival, Harmony-Singing Festival, Sinjska Alka tournament)… • BDP in 2007 approximately EUR 6,400 per capita • Approx. 142 thousand of employees total
ACTIVITES IMPLEMENTED BY COUNTY OF SPLIT-DALMATIA • Contributed to creation of data base of: - TOURISTIC AGENCIES for adventure tourism ( rafting, canyoning, mountain bike, paintball,diving…) - CHARTER AGENCIES - MARINAS
ACTIVITES IMPLEMENTED BY COUNTY OF SPLIT-DALMATIA (2) Collection of data on cultural and historical heritage – INPUTS FOR OFFICIAL WEB SITE OF PROJECT MARINAS
ACTIVITES IMPLEMENTED BY COUNTY OF SPLIT-DALMATIA (3) • WORKSHOP AND CONFERENCE FOR SME IN SPLIT 28-29th MAY 2008
CONFERENCE CONTENTS • Presentation of the Lead Partner, Province of Ancona. Up to date progress report and future activity for MARINAS project • Presentation by the Split- Dalmatia County • Reports of all other partners involved • Round table discussion of MARINAS project
CONFERENCE CONTENTS (2) • Presentation of business activites, organisational structures, future plans, marketing, opportunities by SME’s in tourism involved in MARINAS- cross border co-operation project from Italian and partners from other countries
CONCLUSION • Benefits of Project MARINAS for the County of Split- Dalmatia • Knowledge gained in project management • Transfer of ‘’know-how’’ and experience from Italian partners • Lessons learned for future projects • Hope for further cooperation
