iDCS500/OfficeServ 500 There is no proprietary hotel Front Of House system. The Samsung Hotel Plus program is suitable for up to 100 rooms only. Above this size a hotel will have a dedicated FOH system. The iDCS500 is ready to integrate with any FOH system using the built in Property Maintenance System (PMS) Link.

iDCS500/OfficeServ 500 Daughter cards • There are 7 types of daughter cards that can be attached to the main system processor cards. • These daughter cards add functionality and memory to the system • Some daughter cards are installed in dedicated positions, others can be attached in any position on any card • Each processor card can have up to 3 daughter cards attached, • Any individual processor card can not have a duplication of a daughter card.
iDCS500/OfficeServ 500 • IPM (Inter Processor Communication and Memory) • Needed for multi cabinet installations and/or L software installed in a single cabinet, its function is to provide the inter processor messaging on multi cabinet systems and also adds an extra 1.5Mb of SRAM for the customer database and 4Mb of DRAM for the operating system and scratch pad memory. • This card is installed in the labelled position ‘D2’ on the MCP card only • MCP1 only
iDCS500/OfficeServ 500 • ESM (Expanded Switch Module) • This daughter card expands the switch matrix from 512 channels in a single cabinet to 1024 channels needed for L software. • This card is installed in labelled position D1 on the MCP card.
iDCS500/OfficeServ 500 • LAN (Local Area Network) • This card is the termination for the LAN interface on the IOM card, it provides a 10 base T interface, an extra 0.5Mb of SRAM for expanded database and IO functions(reports) and also supports serial ports 3 and 4 on the IOM card and the optional Modem interface. • This card can only be connected in the labelled position D3 on the MCP card. • MCP1 only
iDCS500/OfficeServ 500 • SCM (Switch and Conference Module) • This module adds to the system the following. • 12 DSP’s for DTMF tone detection and provision of dial tone for SLT ports. • 18 Conference paths to increase the the systems capacity from 6 to 24 conference paths in total. • In a single cabinet system this card must be installed in position MCP-D1. • In a multi cabinet system this card must be installed on the SCP in any position. • Only 1 SCM daughter card can be installed in a system.
iDCS500/OfficeServ 500 • MFM (Multi-Frequency Module) • This card adds the following to the system • 12 DSP’s for tone detection and provision of dial tone for SLT ports. • This card can be installed in any position on any of the processor cards (MCP, LCP, SCP)
iDCS500/OfficeServ 500 • RCM (R2/CID Module) • This daughter card has the following functions • 14 CID receivers for analogue Loop Start Lines • 8 R2 MFC receivers • 30 R2 MFC senders • This card can be installed in any position on any processor card, a maximum of 3 cards can be installed in a system.
iDCS500/OfficeServ 500 • MISC (Miscellaneous Function Module • This card allows various external miscellaneous connections. • 2 external music/audio inputs • 1 external paging audio output • 1 loud bell relay audio output • 2 relay contact closures for external paging • This card can only be installed in specific locations due to the external ports, these are MCP-D3, SCP-D2, LCP-D2, the system will support 3 of these cards.
iDCS500/OfficeServ 500 • The last system card is the IOM (Input Output Module) • This card can only be installed in the main cabinet in its dedicated slot. • The card contains the following • 4 x 9 pin D type connectors • 2 supported by card, 2 supported by LAN card (MCP1) • 1 for test, 2 & 3 for service, 4 & LAN not used (MCP2) • 1 x RJ45 LAN interface (MCP1 only) • Provision for an optional Modem card.
iDCS500/OfficeServ 500 Memory • The system operating software is stored on a Smart Media card, inserted into the MCP card. • There is, optionally, capacity to store the customers database and also firmware for upgradeable cards e.g. TEPRI, SCP, LCP, MCP and LAN.
iDCS500/OfficeServ 500 Software packages • S package, 6 slots, uses M software (OfficeServ only). • M package, single cabinet system, does not support multiple BSI card installations • L package, multi cabinet, multi BSI cards(max 3). • Both packages include Hotel and Networking (Q-Sig) software. • L package software requires additional hardware installed (SCP, IPM and ESM)
