"Lifesong" Empty hands held high Such small sacrifice If not joined with my life I sing in vain tonight. May the words I say And the things I do Make my lifesong sing Bring a smile to You. Let my lifesong sing to You Let my lifesong sing to You

"Trust And Obey"When we walk with the LordIn the light of His wordWhat a glory He sheds on our way
While we do His good willHe abides with us stillAnd with all who will trust and obey
Trust and obeyFor there's no other wayTo be happy in JesusBut to trust and obey
But we never can proveThe delights of His loveUntil all on the altar we layFor the favor He showsFor the joy He bestowsAre for them who will trust and obey
Trust and obeyFor there's no other wayTo be happy in JesusBut to trust and obey
Lord, I love YouPlease help me to trust and obeyLord, I love YouPlease help me to trust and obey
Then in fellowship sweetWe will sit at His feetOr we'll walk by His side in the wayWhat He says we will doWhere He sends we will goNever fear, only trust and obey
Trust and obeyFor there's no other wayTo be happy in JesusBut to trust and obey (2x)
Lord, I love YouPlease help me to trust and obeyLord, I love YouPlease help me to trust and obey Lord, I love You Please help me to trust and obey

A Day At The Beach *I need two volunteers *The law is like the sign. Its essential, and we are grateful for it, but it doesn’t get rid of the sharks. *The law is essential in making us aware of our sin problem because we can’t uphold it
The Purpose of the Law *Common feelings today toward God’s Law *There are some strange laws out there! *Moving from not saved to saved, Paul’s audience must have had some questions about their law = he uses an illustration/an example * “No longer under the law”
The Law *Law code established by God *It directed His people in their worship & relationships *Other nations had law codes too *The Mosaic Law, in contrast, was: -From God -Binding on the people -An expression of God’s love and concern for His people
Cannot!!...Can Too!! *The Law: Can: -Show us what sin is -Convict us - It makes ME aware that I am a sinner -Shows us that we are unable to please God by our own works and that we need a Savior Cannot: -Save - it can’t save the honest sinner, or the pretending law keeper -Bring about holiness
What Does This All Mean To Me? 1. Because we died with Christ, the law no longer condemns us 2. Since we are united with Christ, THE SPIRIT enables us to produce good deeds for God - with our renewed hearts and minds 3. We still uphold the law, but now with a different motivation
