Highly effective partnerships already exist.  However we want them to become even better, bringing in more stakeholders, aligning to the vision and spirit of the Natural Environment White Paper and working to deliver more integrated, cross-cutting outcomes. Suggested membership to include many of the following: Local Authorities, Parish Councils, Community Forums, National Parks Arms Length Bodies (Environment Agency, Natural England, Forestry Commission, Marine Management Organisation, English Heritage, British Waterways etc) Civil society organisations and Environmental Charities (e.g. Wildlife Trusts, RSPB, National Trust, Butterfly Conservation etc) Existing Partnerships (e.g. Coastal Partnerships, Local Biodiversity Action Plan Partnerships, Local Access Forums, LEADER Local Action Groups, Rural and Farming Networks, Green Infrastructure Partnerships) Land Owners, Local Businesses, Local Enterprise Partnerships, Health and Wellbeing Reps Education/Learning organisations, Community Organisers , Local Environmental Record Centres, Local Universities

8. What Local Nature Partnerships could do: Plan and deliver integrated environmental action

9. What Local Nature Partnerships could do: Embed natural value into local decision making Influence decisions about organisations’ resource allocation so that they can be aligned with the locally-agreed vision and priorities Make links between the economy and the natural environment

10. What Local Nature Partnerships could do: Provide local leadership on environmental issues Provide integrated advice to Local Authorities on the natural environment Monitor and report on progress of environmental outcomes

11. What Local Nature Partnerships could do: Support delivery of Nature Improvement Areas Champion ideas of natural value in the area and engage communities Generate local participation in debates about landscape scale change

12. Next Completion of Transition Fund activity by end June 2012 Partnerships invited to submit applications in late March or April 2012 to be recognised by Government and its environmental agencies First LNP’s recognised at a Ministerial event in late 2012 Remember to register at
