Gary Guion earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin before establishing a career in the financial sector. Immediately following college, he joined PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where he operated as an Associate in the Global Risk Management Solutions division. Today, Gary Guion helps manage the equity and debt financing firm SMG Capital Partners and contributes to a team of professionals that raise funding and negotiate ownership in real estate, private equity, and nonprofit projects. Over the years, they have achieved several other major milestones, such as hitting the $1 million revenue mark within the first year of operation and completing a combined $75 million in construction revenue from 2004 to 2012. Presently, Gary Guion and his colleagues oversee risk management, budgeting and financing, and similar operations for a private equity fund and nearly two-dozen real estate projects. The team at GGFH Holdings Inc plans to focus on creating and managing an Alzheimer’s research, outreach, and support foundation. Outside of GGFH Holdings Inc, Gary Guion actively participates in his community and in professional development. A licensed Texas real estate salesperson, he maintains membership in The Real Estate Council (based in Dallas) and in the McCombs School of Business’s Real Estate Advisory Council.
Outside of work, Gary Guion strives to spend as much time with his wife and children as possible. He enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle by mountain biking, playing intramural basketball, and lifting weights. In addition, he remains involved with his local church and attends a variety of sporting events. A successful entrepreneur and executive, Gary Guion possesses extensive acumen in the realms of real estate, finance, and business development. As President and founder of the D&G Investment Group, Inc., he oversees all aspects of the growing firm, including financial management, budget preparation, employee supervision, sales, contract negotiation, and project scheduling.
Members of The Real Estate Council make up the top 5 percent of commercial real estate professionals and businesses in Dallas and the surrounding North Texas region. Gary Guion also contributes to local, national, and international charitable initiatives, such as Habitat for Humanity, The Crystal Charity Ball, and Park Cities Baptist Church.Gary Guion currently serves as President of the D&G Investment Group, Inc., a real estate, private equity, and commercial construction contracting company he founded in 2004. Concurrently, Gary Guion presides as a Partner with GGFH Holdings Inc a real estate development operation with 22 various real estate projects, and a private equity investment. GGFH is also in the process of creating a foundation dedicated to supporting victims of Alzheimer's.
As a partner, he maintains responsibility for all firm operations, including finance, human resources, equity and debt raises, accounting, and risk management. Among a number of accomplishments while serving in this potion, Mr. Guion facilitated $10 million of equity raised for as a firm within the first six months. He joined D&G Investment Group in 2003. Gary Guion has occupied an array of executive positions over the course of his career. He attended the University of Texas at Austin's McCombs School of Business, where earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2002. Following this, Mr. Guion took a position as Associate with PricewaterhouseCoopers, out of Boston, Massachusetts, serving in the company's Risk Management Solutions department until 2004.
Between 2007 and 2009, he also worked in real estate and structured finance through Holliday Fenoglio Fowler LP, where his team evaluated more than $3 billion of various opportunities across the United States and Mexico, ultimately closing 45 transactions worth over $750 million. Gary Guion maintains a rich private life. In addition to his ongoing responsibilities with the companies he manages, he also engages an array of recreational pursuits that include intramural basketball, mountain biking, weight training, and a variety of other athletic activities. A proud family man, he loves spending time with his wife and son.
At the same time, Mr. Guion contributes to numerous philanthropic initiatives. A supporter of Crystal Charity and Habitat for Humanity, he also functions as a Silver Sponsor with the Cattle Barons through the American Cancer Society.
