Presentation • The use of Videoconference and collaboration techniques is growing in European NRENs; • It became important to define the correct use of these technologies as well as the installation of Videoconference rooms; • The correct use of the technology, may motivate more usage; • The correct use of the technology, will: • Improve the Videoconference Experience!

Activity A • Various guides relating to providing voice, video and data collaboration services; • Based on Egon’s view of the need for good documentation relating best practices in Videoconference; • The documents will be produced in the framework of FCCNs “Projecto Estudios” - Videoconference Studios; • Zlatko Jelacic (CARnet) was involved in a similar project with 14 VC rooms and was collaborating in the beginning.

Next Steps • Gather the rooms specifications of “Projecto Estudios”; • Select and translate the documents to match all the types of collaboration work and the needs of TF-VVC; • Use the “Projecto Estudios” as a valuable testbed on the creation of VC rooms in Universities; • Compare information of similar projects in order to get more complete documentation;

  6. Project Estudios • Multimedia Rooms in full metamorphosis; • Installed in 6 Portuguese Educational Institutions; • To be used by all Institutions/users connected to the Portuguese NREN;
