  3. What are the types of History? Take a few minutes: you and your neighbor create a list of what History is and how you study it?

  4. History is the study of… • Social History: needs and wants of people • Economic History: impact and development of trade and consumes • Political History: how governments are organized and change over time • Military History: Conflict is a constant in history • Cultural History: Study of art, music, costume in society

  5. We will study all of these this year • Now the question is how do we study History? Lets try this “Chalk Activity”… • You need a sheet of paper (I will provide if needed) • Chalk • View the screen • And don’t give up!!!

  6. What did this chalk activity show us? • Take a second to discuss this with a your neighbor…think about these questions • What did you start with? • What did you know as you started? • What did you have to do to complete this task? • How did you finally get the correct answers? • What did this teach you about “learning History”?
