  2. Diversity is a difference among things such as race, religion, and social status. Different schools have different levels of diversity. Diversity and Multicultural Education

  3. Diversity and Multicultural Education • Multicultural education is where there is a variety of races in the education system. • An example of multicultural education would be studying Black history month.

  4. Bilingual Education • I think that because we are a culturally diverse country multiple languages should be taught in the education system. • I do not think that each teacher should be required to know multiple languages but there should be special classes to help students learn English.

  5. How to reduce the effects of racism in the classroom: • To reduce the effects of racism the teacher should teach about different races, religions and cultures. • The teacher should also try to eliminate any stereotyping of diversity. • Having students who are aware of diversity is the key to eliminating racism.

  6. Becoming aware of the differences among students: • To become a more aware teacher of the varying differences among your students you should be knowledgeable about different races, religions and cultures. • Getting to know your students and their families and home life is another way to be aware of the differences. • Communication is the number one key to becoming more aware of each child’s differences.
