DGR 2:a"giving" DGR exist only for the purposes of providing donations to "doing" DGRs • Includes public or ancillary funds. A DGR 2 may not fund another DGR 2. As a Community Service Organisation, Zonta would need to apply via a charity that has DGR status. Consider grant writing as a community service.

P The pitch: making the ask xponential philanthropy • Personal solicitation far better than letter of request. • Research the company/person prior to meeting (why this project is a good fit). • Know what you are asking for: build a solid case for support/fit. • Prepare a written sponsorship proposal. (Check website for terms of reference.) • Outline the benefits to the company • What can you offer in return? • Logo placement on promotional material • free seats at event • company rep to present prizes etc

P The most effective way to solicit a BIG GIFT xponential philanthropy Person-to-person Person-to-group Telephone conversation Direct marketing Via the internet In person-to-person fundraising, the ASK must be carried out by someone with a relationship with the prospect to maximise the gift size. The ‘best’ person is the one the donor will find it hardest to say ‘no’ to.
