P Limitations xponential philanthropy DGR 1: a"doing" DGR • public benevolent institutions • Universities • environmental organisations • cultural organisations…and more. DGR 2:a"giving" DGR exist only for the purposes of providing donations to "doing" DGRs • Includes public or ancillary funds. A DGR 2 may not fund another DGR 2. As a Community Service Organisation, Zonta would need to apply via a charity that has DGR status. Consider grant writing as a community service.

P The pitch: making the ask xponential philanthropy • Personal solicitation far better than letter of request. • Research the company/person prior to meeting (why this project is a good fit). • Know what you are asking for: build a solid case for support/fit. • Prepare a written sponsorship proposal. (Check website for terms of reference.) • Outline the benefits to the company • What can you offer in return? • Logo placement on promotional material • free seats at event • company rep to present prizes etc
