Revision of publications - progress TMH1 • Set 1: A1to A5 – published by SABS end June 2006 • Set 2: A6 and B18 + two new methods – second draft submitted to SABS end of May 2006 • Set3:A7 and A8 + one new method– first draft to industry May 2006 All three sets published by SABS by the end of 2006 – SANRAL, PAWC

COTO RMC Issues: • Lack of formal structure for approvals and publishing of documents - Road Coordinating Committee (RCC) not functioning • Lack of national research fund • Need for other COTO committees to be reactivated.
COTO RMC Points of interest • New procurement system for professional services: Competitive selection on balance between competence and price • Preference for accredited laboratories • Request for a QMS from consulting engineers (ISO 9001 or similar) • Reactivation of COLTO specification committee – compatibility with CIDB requirements and revision
COTO RMC Next meeting:October 2006
