  8. Steel City Grant in Progress Powerex applied for and was awarded a $8,000,000 DOE Grant to build a factory for medium volume module production in support of electric vehicle stimulus plans. Powerex will build a new clean room housing a manufacturing center, reliability center and lab. Mitsubishi and GE agreed to support with a remodel of the existing factory. The first floor will be the location of the new facility. The 2nd floor will be consolidated for continued discrete element fabrication. Acoustic Microscope and SEM used for failure analysis & yield improvement added in 2010 as a result of this grant. ($500,000) Powerex Proprietary
