A call to discipleship is a call to obedience Verse 4: When Jesus had finished speaking, he said to Simon, ‘Put out into the deep water and let down your nets for a catch.’ Verse 5: Simon answered, ‘Master, we have worked all night long but have caught nothing. Yet if you say so, I will let down the nets. Romans 2:13 For not the hearers of the Law are just before God, but the doers of the Law will be justified.

A call to discipleship is a call for self-examination Isaiah 6:1, 5 6:1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lofty; and the hem of his robe filled the temple. 6:5 And I said: ‘Woe is me! I am lost, for I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips; yet my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!’ Psalm 139: 23-24 23. Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my thoughts. 24. See if there is any wicked* way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

  5. 3. A call to discipleship is a call to align life mission John 10: 16; 27 16. I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd. 27. My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. Luke 5:10b - 11 ‘Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching people.’ 11When they had brought their boats to shore, they left everything and followed him.
