IMN instructions for students • The right pages are in for input; left pages are for output. That means class notes are on the right, and you’ll practice, reflect, and/or summarize on the left. • Number each page as you use it. Put a title and date on every page and enter the title on your Table of Contents. • Never go on to the next page unless directed by your teacher. If you need more space, glue loose leaf paper to the bottom and fold it up. Coweta Committed to Student Success
IMN instructions for students • Use pencil and colored pencil only in the IMB because marker and highlighter both bleed through the page. • Use tape or glue sticks only to attach paper to pages in your notebook. Staples add unnecessary bulk and sometimes rip the pages. Coweta Committed to Student Success
IMN grading suggestions • Get a date stamper and make it a habit to “check” work by stamping the day’s date. • Consider using a rubric and doing a notebook check occasionally. Coweta Committed to Student Success
IMN implementation challenges • Can be challenging • Takes a bit of patience • Requires modeling, modeling, modeling • Must consistently be reinforced • Takes time to learn both for the teacher and for the students to develop their own style Coweta Committed to Student Success
