What is Response to Intervention (RtI)? Response to Intervention (RtI) is a process that provides intervention and educational support to all students at increasing levels of intensity based on their individual needs. The goal is to prevent academic and behavior problems and intervene early so that students can be successful. www.florida-rti.org
DCPS Approach to RtI BLENDED SYSTEM
Three Tiered Model of School Supports • Tier 1is the foundation and consists of scientific, research-based core instructional and behavioral methodologies, practices, and supports designed for ALL STUDENTS. • Tier 2consists of supplemental instruction and behavioral interventions for TARGETED GROUPS in ADDITION to and in alignment with effective core instruction and behavioral supports (Tier 1) • Tier 3 consists of intensive INDIVIDUALIZED instruction or behavioral interventions for students in ADDITION to and in alignment with effective core (Tier 1) and supplemental instruction and behavioral supports (Tier 2).
