A Tragic Life (Lk.18:18-27) God rescues us from tragedy: And Jesus looked at him and said, “How hard it is for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God! "For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” They who heard it said, "Then who can be saved?" Jesus said, "The things that are impossible with people are possible with God."
The Victorious Life (Lk.18:28-30) Then Peter said, “Look, we have left what we had and followed You.” That reminds me of me… So He said to them, “I assure you: There is no one who has left a house, wife or brothers, parents or children because of the kingdom of God, who will not receive many times more at this time, and eternal life in the age to come.”
The Victorious Life (Lk.18:31-32) Then He took the Twelve aside and told them, “Listen! We are going up to Jerusalem. Everything that is written through the prophets about the Son of Man will be accomplished. I continued watching in the night visions, and I saw One like a son of man coming with the clouds of heaven….He was given authority to rule, and glory, and a kingdom; so that those of every people, nation, and language should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and His kingdom is one that will not be destroyed. Daniel 7:13-14
The Victorious Life (Lk.18:31-34) Then He took the Twelve aside and told them, “Listen! We are going up to Jerusalem. Everything that is written through the prophets about the Son of Man will be accomplished. For He will be handed over to the Gentiles, and He will be mocked, insulted, spit on; and after they flog Him, they will kill Him, and He will rise on the third day.” They understood none of these things. This saying was hidden from them, and they did not grasp what was said. “Son of man…was given authority to rule, and glory, and a kingdom…”
The Rescued Life (Lk.18:35-42) As He drew near Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the road begging. Hearing a crowd passing by, he inquired what this meant. “Jesus the Nazarene is passing by,” they told him. So he called out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Then those in front told him to keep quiet, but he kept crying out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
The Rescued Life (Lk.18:35-42) Jesus stopped and commanded that he be brought to Him. When he drew near, He asked him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” “Lord,” he said, “I want to see!” "So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. Luke 11:9
The Rescued Life (Lk.18:35-42) And Jesus said to him, "Receive your sight; your faith has made you well." Immediately he regained his sight and began following Him, glorifying God; and when all the people saw it, they gave praise to God. 2 1 3
A Rescued Camel (Lk.19:1-9) How hard it is for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God! Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. He wanted to see who Jesus was, but being a short man he could not, because of the crowd. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way. 2 1
A Rescued Camel (Lk.19:1-9) How hard it is for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God! When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, "Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today." So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly. All the people saw this and began to mutter, "He has gone to be the guest of a 'sinner.'"
A Rescued Camel (Lk.19:1-9) All the people saw this and began to mutter, "He has gone to be the guest of a 'sinner.'“ But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, "Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount." Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to rescue what was lost." Luke 19:8-10
