History • Jacksonville State has a total of 20 nationally affiliated Greek organizations. • The earliest Panhellenic sorority at JSU was Alpha Xi Delta. • Alpha Xi Delta was here at JSU’s campus on March 2, 1968
Problems and Goals • A variety of different Greek stereotypes across the United States. • The emphasis of “Getting Involved” at JSU. • JSU must try a different approach to reaching out to the future students on JSU’s campus.
Objectives • The main objective is to show the incoming students all of the benefits with joining a Greek organization. • To get the word out about many different Greek opportunities around Jacksonville State.
Audience • The Audience for the Greek community is graduating high school students. • These students range from around 18-25. • Students have to be ready for a great opportunity and open to new ideas.
Strategies & Tactics • Jacksonville State needs to plan a Greek Rally after all Preview Days. • Brochures and Compact Disc’s describing the benefits of Greek Life should be mailed out 6 months prior to the Fall semester.
Calendar • November 1, 2008 is the first Preview Day and will start the kick-off of the first Greek Rally. • The Rally will be promoted as one of the events to take place at the Preview Day. • Brochures and compact discs must be mailed out 6 months prior to the Fall semester.
Budget • $3500.00- Brochures and Compact Disc’s • $100.00- Refreshment table for Greek Rally • $400.00- Local Banners • Total= $4000.00
Evaluation • The Greek Life at Jacksonville State should increase by a 12% increase over the next couple years. • This change would take our Greek community from 573 total members to 641 total members.
