Patients Feedback • live in Bearsden. • I have attended screening twice at Gartnavel. The patient waiting area is in effect the corridor next to the public lifts – not so good. • Retinal screening is important as it removes the subjectivity from measuring changes and it will preserve a known state allowing long-term retrospective review of deterioration perhaps linked to HBA 1C. • Service delivery is fine. • I have not. • Combined screening would be fine by me provided the appointments were reliably brief and did not involve the risk of a long wait during the working day. Patients Feedback • Baberton, Edinburgh • It is very good, staff are friendly and is a very efficient service, provides regular appointments and prompt information of results. • Because you wouldn't know if your eyes were affected until it was too late. Patients’ Feedback • East Kilbride • Distance to travel was given an appointment at time Capsule Coatbridge for my last appointment. • Pick up any early changes in peoples eyes and help to prevent further deterioration. • Reduce the national rate of blindness in the working age population as it is doing already and hopefully reduce further. • OK but I also like aspects of Glasgow's mobile units. • No • That is the way it used to be done at Hairmyres and worked very well. Patients’ Feedback • Larkhall • Good Service • need to say the staff, not so good, probably the locations now they have been moved out with the hospital locations. • well its not just now its in the future when I hope to still have good enough sight to see my grand kids (not too many though). • Do you like the way the service is delivered? yes the NHS have finally got it right with diabetes, every where you go its right in your face how important this subject is. every magazine , flier and DUK website has it plastered all over.... thumbs up. • NO • I haven’t came across a joint pilot yet but it sounds like a common sense idea. Patient & Public Support • 1997 Grampian Voluntary Group gifted £37.000 for first Camera • Patients express concern if screening appointment is late - they expect an annual check • DRS was the most popular item at patients’ education days • Of all complications loss of sight raises the most anxiety Steve Graham
