Languages • All students will study French in Year 7 • No other language will be taught in Year 7. • Students will then be offered a second language for Year 8 as languages will be a core GCSE for this cohort. • This is a change in strategy for RWBA due to changes in Government regulations (EBacc) and performance measures. • SEND • All SEND will be supported by TA led intervention within mainstream classes. Differentiation by the class teacher will ensure inclusion and access to the curriculum for all. All students will gain their full entitlement to the secondary curriculum.
Behaviour for Learning • Students’ holistic and academic development are our prime aims • In order to facilitate this, RWBA has adopted a specific Behaviour for Learning Policy that encourages positive behaviours in students that has significantly reduced low level disruptive behaviour, non completion of homework, lack of preparedness for school (equipment or uniform) and lateness to school and lessons • We use a ‘Warn C1, Move C2 and Remove C3 system with C3 and above sanctioned with immediate after school detentions • There is a flow chart that explains the Policy on the Academy Website
