Location… -Québec City was founded on a strategic location of the St. Lawrence River.
Becoming a destination… -Because of the St. Lawrence River, Quebec City was mainly a stop for sailors and a place of port business. -Once most business moved to Montreal, Quebec City fell upon hard times, which ultimately led to massive remodeling and clean up of the city in the mid-twentieth century for tourism.
