Recruit Who might we recruit as deliverers? What support will they need?
Change4Life Sports Club Leaders • Through discussions with SENCo • Discussions with parents as part of pupil IEP • Invite target pupils to leadership training and then recruit • Class briefing to explain leadereship opportunities • Publicise job advert and application process with an interview and a success letter • Profile of previous leaders motivates others to apply

Pupil Ownership • Develop a group of pupils to decide how to develop Club • Draw on pupil skills and interests • Think outside the box let the pupils be creative • Celebrate everything about Change4Life Sports Club • Change4Life Notice Board • Encourage participants and leaders to meet with Head to share what they are doing and how much fun they are having • Enable pupils to develop media productions to promote the Club and share with parents • Develop celebration days that include parents

Growth of the Change4Life Sports Club • New roles within Club i.e. media and newsletter editor • Pupils developed new games and game cards • Certificates for participants and leaders using ‘values’ • New leadership opportunities within school i.e. peer mentors for newly arrived, behaviour, buddies for vulnerable children • Weekly physical activity challenges for pupils and also family / at home to encourage family physical activity • Change4Life information sent home regularly i.e. ‘sugary swaps’ etc • Keep adding something different – promote to other staff – they also have ideas i.e. Change4Life in spanish, linked to maths and literacy, sports day etc • Create a pathway for participation to leadership
“ The Change4Life Club has helped the school to fully promote and reinforce our values of respect, determination, self-belief, honesty and teamwork. It has provided support for our vulnerable children and enabled them to become fully integrated into both the school and local communities. The celebration events have increase parent and community involvement in our school and helped to develop parent and staff relationships. We have had lots of positive feedback from parents thanking Mrs Best for her enthusiasm and work supporting children who lack confidence and certain social skills. Head teacher
