Der 1. Mai • Verbal-Linguistic • Word games: Onkel Adolf – Dolfonkel Tante Krimhild – Krimitante Students receive a list of words and will create new compound words according to the above pattern.
Die Nachbarn • Mathematical/Logical • Bathroom Schedule This chapter deals with many people living together in a small apartment. Students will create a morning and evening bathroom schedule for all the people according to guidelines.
Advent • Musical/Rhythmical • The Advent song “Advent, Advent” is part of the story. Students will practice reading the words, come up with a tune and record the song.
Die beste Zahnpasta • Interpersonal • Advertisement Students will collaborate and come up with a radio spot (or written ad). Everyone must speak or write and they have to reach a consensus.

Bananen • Visual/Spatial • City Map Students will follow a description (either oral or written) and go from the temporary camp in to the old city center, just like in the story.
Die Kisten sind angekommen • Kinesthetic • Students will feel items placed in a closed box and have to guess what they are. Guesses and a short description (adjectives) need to be written down for later comparison.
Alternate Station:Uwes neue Wörter • Compare *old* with *new* words • Students receive a list with antiquated words and have to find to contemporary version.
