Connexions • providing personalised information, support and guidance • advice regarding benefits, housing, employment, training, CV writing, interview techniques and all other associated tasks with job seeking • As well as counselling and quit smoking services
Sure Start Children’s Centres • Aims to give children the best start in life • Provides services such as: • Information and advice on family support services • Drop-in sessions for parents, carers and childminders • Access to early education and childcare for children under five • Access to child and family health services • Links with Jobcentre Plus, further education and training opportunities
Relate • Counselling service that offers: • Family counselling • Support for parents/children during divorce • Free for young people
Home Start • Volunteers offer support, friendship and practical help to young families • Volunteers meet with families once a week and provide them with “room to breathe”
Parent Voice • Information service that supports parents of disabled children • Provides “the right information at the right time” • Information and advice about any aspect of caring for a disabled child
First Steps Mother and Toddler GroupOakley Toddler Group • Opportunity for children to play, do craft, sing and communicate with other children • Allows parents and carers to meet with others • Some have access to breastfeeding support
Basingstoke GAP • GAP is a leisure project that offers young people with a learning disability an opportunity to achieve through the Gateway Award Scheme • The award is similar to the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme and takes place within a youth club setting
Basingstoke Young Carers • Provides social opportunities for young carers such as: • Bowling, DJ workshops, Graffiti sessions and more
Basingstoke Pregnancy Crisis Centre Services • Provides Sex-Ed classes • Free Pregnancy tests • Advice
Peace of Mind Care • Work with low income families, foster children, children from large families, children and young adults with special needs and disabilities, referrals from the youth offending teams and social services • Increase confidence, self esteem, social interaction and fitness of their clients • Run affordable activities for all ages • Run support groups for parents with children with disabilities/special needs/long term illnesses
