LAPLAND VOCATIONAL COLLEGE • Lapland Vocational College is a vocational school owned by Rovaniemi Municipal Federation of Education. • The counties that own Municipal federation of education are Rovaniemi, Ranua, Kittilä and Sodankylä • Rovaniemi Municipal federation of Education includes not only Lapland Vocational College but also Summer University of Lapland, Education Center of Santa Claus’ Sports Institute, Rovaniemi Apprenticeship Office and Rovaniemi University of Applied Sciences.
Lapland Vocational College started working at first of January 2006. At that time the six separate educational establishments of Rovaniemi Municipal Federation of Education were united into one vocational college, which is ran by the principal of vocational college. • Former educational establishments became then educational departments of Lapland Vocational College. • At first of January 2007 Sodankylä-Institute unite to Lapland Vocational College

The different departments of Lapland Vocational College have annually about 7000 students. About 3000 of them are young students taking part in vocational upper secondary education training. The rest are mainly adults heading toward preparatory training for competence-based qualifications or vocational further education. • About 14 % of the young students in vocational upper secondary education training are doing high school at the same time. By doing so they have the opportunity to same time also achieve high school diploma and matriculation examination.

The main point of the preparations is the participation of the whole personnel and the maximal utilization of the innovations from the different educational fields of Lapland Vocational College.
