  6. Athletic visit to a college • An unofficial visit to a member institution by a prospective student-athlete is a visit made at the prospective student-athlete's own expense. The provision of any expenses or entertainment valued at more than $100 by the institution or representatives of its athletics interests shall require the visit to become an official visit. • An official visit to a member institution by a prospective student-athlete is a visit financed in whole or in part by the member institution.

  7. Recruiting communication • It is permissible for an athletics department staff member to send electronically transmitted correspondence to a prospective student-athlete using a social networking Web site's (e.g., MySpace, Face book) e-mail feature.  All other electronically transmitted correspondence including, but not limited to, text messaging, Instant Messenger, chat rooms or message boards (e.g., a user's wall) within a social networking Web site or through other services or applications remain impermissible. • Electronically transmitted correspondence that may be sent to a prospective student-athlete (or the prospective student-athlete's parents or legal guardians) is limited to electronic mail and facsimiles. (See Bylaw 13.1.7.2.)  All other forms of electronically transmitted correspondence (e.g., Instant Messenger, textmessaging) are prohibited.

Core-Course Requirements • Division I • 16 Core Courses • 4 years English • 3 years math (Algebra I or higher) • 2 years natural/physical science ( 1 year of lab if offered by high school) • 1 year additional English, math or natural/physical science • 2 years social science • 4 years additional courses (from any area above, foreign language or nondoctrinal religion/philosophy) • Division II • 14 Core Courses (August 1, 2013 require 16 Core Courses) • 3 years English • 2 years math (Algebra I or higher) • 2 years natural/physical science ( 1 year of lab if offered by high school) • 2 years additional English, math or natural/physical science • 2 years social science • 3 years additional courses (from any area above, foreign language or nondoctrinal religion/philosophy)

  23. Fewer recruiting restrictions withgreater opportunity for contact    between prospective students and    college recruiters. Flexibility to transfer without missing a season of eligibility. Beginning in the fall of 2010, students that wish to participate in athletics at a member institution will need to be certified by the NAIA Eligibility Center in order to qualify academically and be cleared as an eligible student-athlete for competition beginning in 2011.
