STUDENT CHAPTER CLOTHING • T-SHIRTS • T-Shirts are long sleeved this year. • You will have the option between black or white shirts. • A shirt is included in the membership fee.
STUDENT CHAPTER CLOTHING • HOODIES AND SWEATPANTS • ASCE will be selling hoodies and sweatpants this year. • Hoodies will be red. • Sweatpants will be gray. • These aren’t included in your membership fee. • They’ll go on sale in the middle of this semester.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH DIRECTORRichard Book rabook01@louisville.edu • Coordinates the chapter’s involvement with Dr. Rivoli’s Engineering is Elementary program • In charge of coordinating special trips to local schools • Serve as chapter representative with local engineering programs and festivals
Steel Dynamics Tour / Indy TripSaturday September 19th • SDI Pittsboro Tour / Indianapolis Trip • 7:00am – Leave Speed School Parking Lot • 9:30am – Arrive at SDI Engineered Bar Products • Safety Meeting • 3 hour tour including scrap yard, melt shop, and rolling mill • Lunch provided by SDI • 2:30pm – Leave SDI Pittsboro for downtown Indy • Afternoon/Dinner/Evening – downtown Indianapolis • 7:30pm – Head back to Louisville • 9:45pm – Arrive back at Speed School Parking Lot
SEPTEMBER CHAPTER MEETINGWednesday, September 23rd • 12:00 noon to 1:00pm • VOGT 311 • Barry Thacker (Speed School grad) • Engineering Ethics • TVA Kingston Dam Failure • In conjunction with the CEE 402 Seminar class.
Whitewater Rafting TripFriday October 2nd – Sunday October 4th • 6:00pm FRIDAY – Leave Louisville for Fayetteville, WV by carpool. • SATURDAY – Raft down either the Lower New1 or Lower Gauley2 River • 7:00am SUNDAY – Head back to Louisville • 1 = $126/person 2 = $169/person • In conjunction with the West Virginia Univ. ASCE • Will have river trip confirmation on W September 2nd • RSVP NO LATER THAN FRIDAY September 4th

Project Warm 2009Saturday November 7th • Volunteers needed to help winterize homes in Metro Louisville. • Meet at LG&E (8th & Broadway) in the morning for breakfast and registration • Teams will spend the morning, possibly into the early afternoon, winterizing homes for citizens with special needs and the elderly • More info to come in October
