What is Fifa World Cup? • Fifa World cup is a international football competition. It takes place every 4 years. • There are 32 teams competing to win a Gold Trophy. • Each 4 years the Fifa World cup will be in a different country.
Spain Vs. Germany • Spain and Germany played against each other in the Fifa World Cup in Africa 2010. The match was on Wednesday 7th July 2010. • I chose this match because I watched it and this was the most game I was focused on. I watched this game when I was in Germany we were the only ones cheering for Spain. I am a huge Spain fan and I will always be The Players: .
Who were the Finalists? • It was Spain vs. Netherlands. • Spain won the gold trophy. • The score was Spain 1-0 Netherlands.
What was the scoring sequence and who scored? • Spain won and the score is 1-0 Germany. • CarlesPuyol (Spain player) he scored the goal. He is a fantastic player. What I like about Spain they communicate together very well.
Choose 1 of the goals and describe using Football terminology the sequence of play leading up to the goal. • Carles Puyol scored the goal by his head. Germany kicked the ball out so Xavi Hernández was at the corner he threw overhead pass to Carles Puyol and he immediately scored an epic goal. Spain did a great job passing it to each other and they were well spread out. • http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/archive/southafrica2010/highlights/video/video=1270253/index.html
What could the defense have done to more effectively try and stop the goal being scored? • Germany were defending well but when Carles Puyol scored they weren’t paying attention. Sami Khedira (player for Germany) was looking at the goal and wasn’t defending he was suppose to see who was behind him (Sami was front of Puyol) and where is the ball so he knows how to defend.
Using the same scoring sequence what individual skills have been used by the attacking team? • Sami Khedira was attacking Carles Puyol but he was focused on the goal not the ball. He wasn’t even looking at the ball. Carles Puyol goal was amazing but it was easy to score. • The skills they used to score is overhead pass and Carles Puyol scored by his head (header).
Was there any movement ‘off the ball’ by other attackers to draw defenders away from the goal scorer? • No because Xavi Hernándezwas at the corner and he threw the ball to Carles Puyol and he immediately scored by his head. • There wasn’t any movement ‘off the ball’ by other attackers because Carles scored when he had the chance he scored it happened so quickly.
