CTI Work Based Learning Programs • Our purpose is to provide our students with the necessary life and career skills to succeed in the world of work. • We will provide our students with the necessary tools to develop entry level skills that will carry over into post-secondary education and beyond. • We provide several programs that accomplish this.

Career Technical Education (CTE) • Numerous CTI courses are certified by New York State Regents for CTE endorsement • Every student who completes a one or two year program receives a CTE Regents Endorsement on their graduation diploma • Work Based Learning Experience • Every course that is Regents certified for a CTE endorsement must have a work based learning experience

WBL and Career and Technical Education Endorsement CTE Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation – CTE Endorsement 4.5 Units of Creditwhich includes.. • Cooperative Occupational Education Work Experience (Co-op). • Career Exploration Internship Program (CEIP). • Cooperative Apprenticeship Program (CAP).

  15. WBL and CTE Endorsementprovides added credential on their Regents Diplomas • Endorsement: • Core courses • Skill Training • National Assessment • WBL • WBL VALIDATES the endorsement with local/regional support. • Student has additional credentials to market

  17. What we offer … • Job Shadowing • paid and non-paid internships, cooperative study work based internships • Career Exploration Internship Programs (CEIP) can provide job experience and career exploration

  18. How it works… • There are two sessions per school year for WBL – Oct thru Jan / Feb thru May • You will be able to go to a work site during school time • You must provide your own transportation • You will be trained on important entry level skills while completing your WBL program

  26. Who Coordinates the WBL Programs? • A NYSED approved program should be operated by a Certified Work Based Learning Coordinator.

  27. Put what you’ve learned into practice... • You’ve learned all the theory... now put it into practice through our work based learning programs available at CTI • Learn if you want to be in a certain career path now while you are in high school, this can translate into $ dollars savings for college

  29. College Credit in High School • The majority of our programs have college articulation agreements with numerous local and regional colleges and universities • This translates into saving hundreds of dollars for you prior enrolling in college

  34. Where do I sign up? • Your first step is to see your home school counselor • Request an application to attend CTI • Complete the application and return it to your school counselor • Follow up with a phone call to CTI to see if the application has been received prior to September
