DuVall Elementary • Located in Dearborn, MI – A suburb of Detroit • 276 students in grades K-5 • We are located near Greenfield Village and the Henry Ford Museum
9% students with disabilities • 12% ELL students • 24% Free and reduced lunch • AYP has been met for several consecutive years.

Achievements -We have Provided Training in Technology Integration to teachers throughout the state through the DuVall Tech Camp.

Iblog Promotion • The Technology Advisory Committee (TAC) has approved the promotion of iblog as the consistent means of on-line communication with parents and community members in the district.
Sign up • The use of i-blog is very user friendly. Parents, guardians, community members and students can easily sign-up for the automated e-newsletter feature, which will provide them with an automated email. • http://blog.dearbornschools.org/maleyko/ • Users have control over how often they receive the emails, from every time a new post is placed on the blog site to daily, weekly or monthly updates.
Iblog Benefits • Quick and Easy Communication • Cost Savings • Promotes Green Schools. • Parents are very satisfied with this form of communication.
School Blog site • The site is being used by all DuVall faculty • This is the main form of communication in the DuVall school community. • We have a school level blog, PTA blog and classroom level blog for all teachers. • We also use the blog to promote special programs. School Blog and Classroom teacher blogs • We are recommending that all schools in Dearborn set up a school blog to provide parents with information in an efficient and timely manner • It is also recommended that all teachers in Dearborn set up blog sites to provide information on classroom activities, curriculum and instruction, homework, and other areas.
Automated enewsletter • Promotion of the enewsletter and automated email option on both the school sites and teacher sites. • This can be done through newsletters and during open house.
