I. Prayer is powerful to overcome obstacles (4-7). • It is not by human strength. • It is not by our might but by HIS might. • It is not by our power but by HIS power.
I. Prayer is powerful to overcome obstacles (4-7). • It is only by the power of the Holy Spirit. • Not by any strategy on our part. • Not dependent upon our resources.
II. Prayer is powerful to accomplish big things (8-10). • It gives us the ability to complete what we have started. • He will carry to completion what He has begun in us. • Philippians 1:6, “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Prayer is powerful to accomplish big things (8-10). • It gives us the ability to complete what we have started. • God has the power to do what He has promised. • Matthew 17:20, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” • Romans 4:21, “fully persuaded that God had the power to do what he had promised.”
II. Prayer is powerful to accomplish big things (8-10). • We are not to despise the day of small things. • All great things have started out small • Electric light • Steamboat • Airplane • Automobile • God can make small things big.
