PRODUCT ORIENTATION MODULE
DEFINITION OF TECHNICAL TERMS Kilometer Per Hour (KPH) - unit measurement of velocity which indicates the number of kilometers traveled in one hour Revolution Per Minute (RPM) -is a unit of frequency of full rotations completed in one minute around a fixed axis.
Odometer – An instrument which measures and registers the number of kilometers of vehicle travelled. Torque – Turning force of a shaft to rotate.
Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) - Is a safety device which prevents the wheel on a motor vehicle from locking up while braking. Capacitor Discharge Ignition (CDI) – is a type of electronic automotive ignition system which is develop to overcome the long charging time for high speed engine.
DEFintion and illustration of engines mechanism
Four-stroke - An internal combustion engine in which the intake, compression, combustion and exhaust strokes occurs during two (2) crankshaft rotations per working cycle of the engine.
Two-stroke - An internal combustion engine that completes the thermodynamic cycle in two movement of the piston (compared two twice the number for a four-stroke engine).
Overhead Valve (OHV) – is as type of piston engine that places the camshaft within the cylinder block, also called as pushrod engine or I-head engine. Generally used by: Tricycle Model Motorcycle Pushrod Type Overhead Cam (OHC) – Valvetrain configurations places the engine camshaft within the cylinder head above the combustion chamber. Generally used by: Cruiser and Sports and Moped Motorcycle Cam Chain Type
Manual Clutch – A mechanical device that manually disconnect the engine from the transmission to allow the vehicle to change gear Automatic Clutch - A mechanical device that automatically disconnect the engine from the transmission to allow the vehicle to change gear Generally used for : Business, Cruiser and Leisure Motorcycles Generally used for : Under bone and Moped and Motorcycle
Powerfulmatic (Stepless)- A mechanical device for V-belt automatic stepless shift mechanism. Applicable for : Scooter with V-belt
Air Cooled – Is a type of cooling system which rely on the natural air circulation directly over hot parts to cool them. Forced Air Cooled – Is a type of cooling system equipted with cooling fan which is driven by the engine to cool the engine parts. Generally used for : Business, Cruiser, Moped Motorcycles Generally used for : Scooters
Water Cooled – Is a type of cooling system equiped with a radiator and antifreeze to cool the engine parts. Generally used for : Scooters, Sports, Cruiser and Leisure Motorcycles Oil Cooled – Is a type of cooling system equipted with a small radiator used to cool the engine oil. Generally used for : Cruiser and Motard Motorcycles
